When planning your dream wedding, the budget is the first thing that you should decide on. Creating a detailed list of what you need in your wedding helps to prevent you from going overboard with your spending. Working with a wedding planner, friend or family member who has recent wedding planning experience can help you find better prices and the right vendors to keep you on track.

Venue - The location that you choose for your wedding is also determined by your budget. Popular area venues will generally charge more than venues that are less popular outside of cities. Vendor packages usually differ based on the venue. For example, some venue contract requirement is that you use their vendors. And, if you chose to use vendors who are not in their contract requirements, you will ask to pay a hefty fee. Also, their catering amount may be less than the number of guests that is on your list and you'll have to pay for the additional guest.

Time of year - The day and season of the year that you decide on for your wedding make a big difference to the cost. A summer wedding on a Saturday will cost a lot more than a wedding in another season and day of the week. Some vendors might offer discounts for weddings on off-peak season and days.

Guest-list -  A large portion of your budget will go towards paying for your guests. You need to be very strategic about the number of persons that are on your list. Be selective and sensitive about who you invite. Someone you haven’t heard  of or seen in 1 to 2 years should not be invited, family members as well. Think twice before sending that expensive custom invites. Most venues charge you for everything that they provide for the guest. From the chair that they sit on, to the food and drink.  Agree on your guest count and stick to it.

If you stick to your wedding budget and carefully follow the plan and list that you made, you will not end up with any debt after your big day and your honeymoon will be most enjoyable without having that in the back of your mind. That is why it is important to work with a good wedding planner as it is essential to your big day and will provide you with an honest assessment financially of how and what you can produce with your funds based on your needs.
