So, you’ve decided to postpone your dream wedding due to COVID-19. Now, what?

You’ve spent months planning your big day. All is going according to plan. The excitement level among your family and friends had risen to a crescendo as your day was finally in sight. Your must-haves are all checked, your dream venue, dream bridal gown, your planner and floral designer of choice, video, photography, DJ, the many back and forth with your fiancé about that one friend/or a not so cool relative that he wanted to invite and you’re not crazy about ☺, and then your world come crashing with COVID-19.

These are unprecedented times and it’s ok to feel emotionally overwhelmed. Stop kicking yourself and remove all feelings of guilt associated with thinking about your personal happiness and wedding day while the world is in distress. This was the day you’ve been dreaming about and it’s ok to feel disappointed. So take the next few minutes or hours to feel sad, angry, and mourn your lost wedding.  Now, that you’ve got that out the way, take a deep breath and start working on your new dates. Remember, vendors work on a first come first serve bases so time is of the essence.

Next Steps:

Review your vendor’s contracts, familiarize yourselves with their postponement/cancelation policies etc… Communication is key and this is the time to talk to your better half, your family and everyone else that's involved wth the planning process. If you have a planner, reach out to him or her to discuss overall strategy and game plan. Remember, your planner and your wonderful vendors are here to work with you and give you the peace of mind you need during this difficult time. Your planner will reach out to your vendors for available dates etc. If you don’t have a planner, it’s important to contact all your vendors to discuss next steps and availability.  Most vendors, if not all are finding ways to work with their clients by allowing them to move to the next best available dates.  Once your new dates are finalized, send out an announcement to your guests informing them of the new changes.

Last but not least, give yourself permission to breathe, keep your faith strong, keep calm, do the things that brings you love and peace, meditate, listen to a podcast, rejuvenate yourself, drink lots of water, take your vitamin C, exercise, read a book, learn new recipes, go for a walk, stay safe and Netflix and chill with your forever love. We are working in the background for you.

Have questions? Give us a call. Your dream wedding /celebration is still a possibility and you don’t have to plan it alone. My team and I will help guide you every step of the way. We are here for you, and we will get through this together. Make the first step.  I can’t wait to hear from you.

With Love
